Spring 2026 Show Sign-Ups
It is time to start prepping for our Spring 2026 Season! We are super excited to announce our new show themes.
Please make sure to read this newsletter in its entirety. Whether you are currently enrolled or you are interested in getting started at School of Rock, there will be a ton of information that will help you plan for the new season.

Frequently Asked Questions
HOW DO I SIGN-UP FOR THE SPRING SEASON?
All Rock 101, Performance, and Adult Students must fill out one of our sign-up forms. You should discuss your show choices with your instructors over the next week before the sign-up forms officially open for enrollment.

WHEN WILL SIGN-UPS BEGIN?
All sign-up forms will open on Friday, December 26th, at 12pm. Use this time to talk to your instructor about the best option for your musical growth and schedule! You can access them directly using the links below, or view them all on our website.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T SIGN UP?
Students are NOT automatically enrolled in the same show time for next season. If you don't sign up in time, we will reach out during Prep Week to let you know which show you have been automatically placed in.

If you are planning on not participating in a show during the Spring season, we require an emailed 30-day notice. Contact us at frisco@schoolofrock.com if you are taking a break.

IS MY STUDENT GUARANTEED A SPOT IN THEIR "FIRST CHOICE"?
Spots are never guaranteed in our shows. We will always prioritize the educational balance of our shows above any other metrics. The best way to ensure you are placed in a preferred show is to fill out the form as soon as possible and discuss your choice with your instructor in the week before sign-ups. There are a limited number of spots per instrument in each show to ensure that they are fairly balanced.

Mondays from 8-10pm
Indie Rock
This show traces the evolution of Indie Rock from its "Left of the Dial" roots to its status as a dominant force in modern music. What began as an underground "DIY" movement in the 80s with pioneers like The Pixies and The Smiths exploded into the mainstream in the 2000s, defined by the garage-influenced sounds of The Strokes and Arctic Monkeys. Today, the genre encompasses a vast range of styles, incorporating everything from Folk and Space Rock to World Music and Electronica. With such a diverse setlist, the Indie Rock show offers exciting challenges for students of all instruments and experience levels.

Thursdays from 8-10pm
Best of the '90s
One of our most popular themes, the Best of the '90s show celebrates the diverse era that shifted rock from '80s polish to the gritty Grunge of Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam. The setlist expands far beyond Seattle to include the alternative anthems of Weezer, Green Day, No Doubt, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Packed with nostalgia for parents and exciting challenges for students, this show is a perfect vehicle for musical progress across all instruments.

Sundays from 4-6pm
CBGB
Our Alumni Show is for young adult students, ages 18-30.

The CBGB show is an overview of the early New Wave bands who got their break at the legendary NYC club. When CBGB opened in 1973, no one had any idea that a Bowery dive bar would become known as the birthplace of Punk. Artists like The Ramones, Television, Blondie, Talking Heads, and Patti Smith set up residence at CBGBs, along with British bands like The Police and Elvis Costello who made CBGB their stateside hangout. The CBGB show offers a diverse and highly educational mix of ridiculously cool artists that can challenge students on any instrument at all experience levels.
