Announcing our 2025 Fall Season at School of Rock Kent!

Our program gets students playing together preparing for an awesome concert.  If you haven't already, come join us!!!  It is simply the best way to learn to play music.
Our Adult Program is also launching a new group as part of our spring season!  In order to sign up for the adult program, new students should contact the school right away to sign up.  Enrollments are due by September 10th and lessons should be started no later than September 15th.  Rehearsals will begin October 6th.  Current adult program students will be sent their own enrollment form for next season via Basecamp.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us!

We will plan to perform the shows live at a venue in January of 2026.

New Youth Students:
Summer season rehearsals begin October 7th.  New students interested in joining should enroll right away (no later than September 1st) and start their weekly private lessons by September 15th.  We like to cast the first few songs as early as we can and give students a jump start before the first rehearsal. New students who are brand new to playing music may need to start in our amazing ROCK 101 program first.

Call us at 253.656.3927 to set up a free trial lesson and find out more about enrolling at School of Rock!

Current Youth Students:
Current youth students should use our online sign up form for their preferred show no later than September 1st.  Student interest is heavily considered, but staff will ultimately place students based also on their educational needs and our program casting needs.

If there are any days or times which your student absolutely can't have as their rehearsal, please let us know directly what your needs are by emailing us at kent@schoolofrock.com.

Students who were on a show summer season who are NOT planning to be on a show spring season must give us notice of enrollment change by September 1st.

If you have some travel plans and are unsure if you can do a show, please contact us.   There are often ways to strategize how to make it work as long as we know ahead of time.

Current Performance Program students who do not fill out the sign up sheet with their preference will still be placed on a show unless we receive cancellation notice.  Some students do not give us preferences and just have us place them on shows.  Simply not giving us a first or second choice will not remove you from the program.  Thank you for honoring our 30 days notice cancellation and enrollment change policy as it helps us plan for the best program possible!

It is very challenging for the success of our program to remove musicians from show rosters once we place students on shows.

Sundays 4 - 6 pm

Rehearsals begin October 12th

Sub Pop records not only continues to be relevant as a record label, but has become an iconic brand that transcends genres and generations.  We will deep dive into their rich catalog and perform artists like Nirvana, Mudhoney, Father John Misty, The Shins, Sunny Day Real Estate, The Fastbacks and so many more!

    The Ozzman Cometh

    Tuesdays 6 - 8 pm

    Rehearsals Begin October 7th

    Director:  Mackenzie Miller

Ozzy and Black Sabbath were a huge influence on heavy metal and wrote some of the most intense rock songs ever recorded.  Then, Ozzy had an a amazing solo career with blazing virtuoso guitarist Rhandy Rhodes.  The Ozzman just kept on rockin' until we finally lost him this year.  This is our homage.  No more tears.

    ozzy-osbourne-portrait-session
    pop legends-1

    Pop Legends

    Wednesdays 6-8 pm

    Rehearsals begin October 8th

    Director:  Mackenzie Miller

Many iconic so-called "pop songs" are actually more rock n' roll than not.  This is a great show for keyboard players, but also funky guitars, amazing bass lines, tight drum beats and soaring vocals.  Celebrating artists like Prince, Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Miley Cyrus, Pink, Taylor Swift and Cyndi Lauper.  This is still a rock n' roll show, but with a wide angle lens bringing in artists who are often labeled as pop artists.

      Adult Program Show

        80s Prom

        Mondays 7 - 9 pm

        Rehearsals Begin October 6th

        Director: Mackenzie Miller

Break out the Aqua Net, it's time to rock!  While this show will be tons of fun, it will also have some tough songs from artists who were at the top of their game in the 80s.  We will do a wide range of music in this show featuring artists like The Cure, Michael Jackson, Duran Duran, Tears for Fears, Van Halen and The Bangles.
